How to dress
To fully enjoy your time at Lapland Winter Park, dressing appropriately for the cold is essential. We recommend wearing multiple layers, including thermal underwear, a warm sweater, mittens or gloves, a hat, a scarf, appropriate shoes and a water-resistant outer layer. If you forgot them, we have woolen hats and gloves for sale at our reception. Label or mark your shoes and gloves to avoid mixing them up with someone else’s similar ones.
With our Area Ticket you will also get an access to several kota huts which all have a fireplace. Have breaks during your snowy activities and enjoy the warmth of the kota huts!
Thermal underwear
Long-sleeved and long-legged base layer worn directly against the skin. It keeps the body warm and moves moisture away so you stay dry.
Woolen socks
Thick wool socks that keep feet warm and dry. Wool insulates even when it is slightly damp.
Warm gloves
Gloves or mittens that protect fingers from the cold. They prevent frostbite and keep hands comfortable.
Hat
A warm beanie or hat that covers the head and ears. A lot of body heat escapes through the head, so this is essential.
Warm sweater
A thick wool or fleece sweater worn as a middle layer. It adds warmth and protects the body from freezing temperatures.
Water-resistant outer layer
An outer garment that repels water and snow. It keeps the inner layers dry and warm.
Padded boots
Insulated winter boots with thick soles. They keep feet warm and protect against snow and slippery surfaces.
Padded jacket
A thick, padded winter coat that keeps the upper body warm. It protects against both wind and freezing weather.
Padded pants
Insulated trousers that keep the legs warm and shielded from wind and cold.
Scarf or balaclava
A scarf or face-covering balaclava that protects the neck and face. They stop cold air from reaching the skin directly.
